I just got the first copy of our graphic novel in the mail last night, and all I can say is this.
It was worth the wait.
From the story, the design, the art, and the care everyone put to bring all this talent together, it was humbling to finally hold this in my hands.
And now, it is your turn.
YOU are appreciated for making his happen!
I waited to send this next update once I **knew** I had our book in hand to share, after several months of delays in getting this from our printers abroad, understanding that COVID and shipping delays have deeply impacted all of us. And here it is:
We've partnered with veteran fulfillment company FUNAGAIN to help us bring together a first shipment run together by month's end.
We ask that for our first July mailing to please fill out the recently sent backer campaign surveys as soon as possible. We will keep requesting surveys and updates for our first delivery run until Friday the 23rd. We're close to 75% of those returned, and will be understanding and intentional to make sure everyone is properly taken care of. If you didn't get your survey or have any issues at all, please let us know.
Our only outstanding deliverable will be our exclusive Brian Stelfreeze Variant Cover book, which will be a separate fulfillment given its limited quantity of distribution. Any backer with this tier will get this current book version sent complimentary upfront and then sent their variant copy separately upon arrival at no additional cost. We will handle their fulfillments individually from there. After we release that version for public sale, we will update everyone on this campaign accordingly.
So, what's next you ask for SORGHUM & SPEAR?
During our SUBSUME SUMMIT - CREATIVE JUNETEENTH event, we revealed the next look into the world of ORUN AYE, our prose Anthology collection, featuring a global range of amazing storytellers ready to share their visions in our world.
SEPTEMBER 2021 is when we expect to have our crowdfund here on Kickstarter, and respectfully want each of you to be a continuing part of our legacy. Your patience has allowed us this world to bloom in its time, and that appreciation is heartfelt.

The writing is done. The design is done. Art is done. Printing at the ready. We want to follow up this campaign with a timely and impactful return to ORUN AYE and have more stories after you devour what we are about to serve you. I cannot wait for you to see for yourself!
And to think, there is so much more we have already in place to share. But first, let us get you your rewards as promised.

Good morning Sorghum & Spear Faithful,
I hope this ALL-MOTHER'S Day finds you and your families safe and sound. For all the Mothers in our lives, and those who have blessed us with their presence and power, I am thankful.
I wanted to share this amazing thing that happened to us:
We spoke about how the series began, how we were both inspired by our All-Mother Nichelle Nichols and the idea of how Afrofuturism and technology are connected.

I send this in appreciation of your part in this, allowing our shared fantasy world to not just survive, but to thrive. I know the wait has been long, but in this journey together, I hope this shows that our team has been working hard to make it the best thing that we can as creatives. And this is but a prelude to some amazing things to come for us all. I sincerely Thank YOU for that.
I wanted to also update that our print graphic books are still en route for import to the US from China as of late March, and as we get more information on their clearance from customs and to our distributor, I will let you know. The expectation now is for those books to be cleared and set for mailing at the end of May. I'll give some time to update addresses here via KS and via backer emails. They exist and are on the way!

Hoping this message finds you well! I realize there are fans from our original comic I haven't reached out to in a moment, and wanted to share how the next chapters of the story you helped to begin are going forward. Again, Thank YOU so much for taking the first steps of the journey with me, and here's an update from our Graphic Novel Kickstarter:
A simple but important note that our book printing run is complete for our graphic novel from our service abroad, and we are expecting them here at our distributor in the coming weeks!
After a few revisions in proof, we have an amazing copy ready to get to you and to the world. For those with the Brian Stelfreeze variant, we're printing that limited run as a local run.
Just know that we'll have as quick a turnaround as we can, and are excited to no only share your book and rewards, but some amazing new work with Sorghum we've been working on. Thank you all for your Love, Patience, and Support of SORGHUM & SPEAR!

A Happy Kwanzaa Eve and a Merry Christmas to all of you!
I hope this message finds you well. If you're reading this, you were some of the first people to believe in and support my dream of bringing my fantasy series SORGHUM & SPEAR to life.
It's been a few years now, and I'm ecstatic to include you in a special preview of our upcoming graphic novel entitled HARVEST OF THE ALL-MOTHER!

OUR BEST YEAR IS HERE!
As we celebrate both the New Year and the Final Day of Kwanzaa, the spirit of IMANI (Faith) is to be celebrated! The women of the Eternal Realm were right at home celebrating the holiday this year, learning more about the Seven Principles and how this secular opportunity was yet another chance to expand the Diaspora Experience within our pages. Our Lead Artist Welinthon Nommo yet again brought his talents to bear, and we created this scene of Eshe, Namazzi and the girls celebrating the final day of Kwanzaa together! Already looking forward to incorporating this into our canon!
