So we have our books and beginning the first big run of mailouts this weekend. The end of fulfillment is nigh and we are excited to offer you something truly special. Again, I Thank YOU.
Some amazing news came out from the East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention on Monday, where our humble project SORGHUM & SPEAR: SIMADAN was nominated for SIX prestigious Glyph Awards!
In a field of exquisite and top-tier artistry and storytelling, I can only be appreciative of our creative team who has made this possible, along with your unyielding support and insistence to see this project done.

Good morning Sorghum & Spear Faithful!
The time is finally here. We have our book!
They Exist!
And so Sorghum & Spear: Simadan is a 24-page comic book that will be coming to you in the next couple of weeks. I expect to begin mailing some product this weekend, as our printing partner finishes up their other client work. We will take great care that your rewards arrive as promptly and professionally as possible.
We ended up going with a smaller printing press,133Art, whose prior Kickstarter and comic endeavors we have been fan and supporters of for years, for our very first print run. It was a natural fit to work with another comic creator who is building the infrastructure to help independent comics like ours thrive in a very competitive marketplace.
To that end, we had a last-moment opportunity to premiere our first run at the Schomburg Center for Black Culture during the 6th Annual Black Comic Book Festival. Our project was well received, and to see the impact and reaction being so positive, it could not have been a better time. To be included with such a high level of inclusive creative talent is something we could not have foreseen, but were privileged to be counted among them.

So, Next Steps:
Formally close our BackerKit on Monday, January 29th. Only a few people are outstanding, and we have a few more that we need to add their shipping costs to avoid any further delay. Also, take this time to add any additional items and ensure we have the best email on file for you.
Get this physical stuff out to your backers, ASAP. We are reprinting all art and packaging it for a quality delivery experience.
We will be sending a formal Digital Rewards Package, which will also be delivered via BackerKit.
Only two projects are still awaiting final approval and print, and those are the Hand Journal and the Sanford Greene Variant. We have art in hand and with smaller print quantities, orders for both will be sent in separate packaging to the lucky people who have it on their list and with personal correspondence along the way.
Time to share the Eternal Realm with you, and prepare for the next step, which for us is the next comic book. We expect another Kickstarter campaign to come Summer 2018 for SORGHUM & SPEAR, and would greatly appreciate your considerations in keeping our team together to tell the tales of the An'Fre.
You have been more than patient with us, and now your rewards of such are here. I'm happy to reflect back and see we have crafted something truly unique. We worked with passion and precision, paid everyone a living wage for their time and talents, and have learned the lessons to make our next creative experience even better. I sincerely Thank everyone for their Love and Support of not only SORGHUM & SPEAR, but of us as a creative family. It will forever be remembered.
